Forging is the first step for the forging factory to process forgings, and the forgings shall be inspected after forging. Forging is to select the corresponding forging equipment according to the material, shape, size and process requirements of forgings. Forgings must be forged on the equipment specified in the process document.

Before forging, operators shall be familiar with forging drawings and process documents. Before forging, the labor and dies must be preheated to the specified temperature by correct methods. Appropriate lubricant and process shall be selected according to the complexity of forgings.

The oxide scale of the blank shall be removed before and during forging. During forging, the initial forging temperature, final forging temperature, deformation degree and deformation speed must be strictly controlled. The forging operation must be carried out in strict accordance with the process specification and process card. Pay attention to whether the blank deformation is normal at any time. If folding, crack and other defects are found, they must be removed immediately by appropriate methods, and the forging can be continued without affecting the quality of the forging.
